IRC supports the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a subcontractor to Lockheed Martin at the Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Division. IRC provides system administration and software engineering support on various projects within the facility. The CJIS Division is the world leader in fingerprint identification technology. The CJIS Division serves as the focal point and central repository for criminal justice information services in the FBI. Programs have included the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR), the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS), and the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS).
