The Defense Collaboration Network/International Collaboration Network (DCN/ICN) is an information technology infrastructure that uses the Internet to encourage and provide defense-wide and world-wide information and collaboration services concerning all aspects of the Continuous Acquisition and Life-cycle Support (CALS) strategy.
DCN/ICN services include:
1. Core Collaboration Services
2. Core Information Services
3. CorePlus Collaboration Services, and
4. CorePlus Information Services.
One may think of DCN/ICN as an Electronic Brokerage house that- Interconnects, adapts, and facilitates services, and
- Brings together various pieces of multiple information products and provides a common interface to these services without modifying the information product or the remote applications that may seek to utilize our DCN/ICN services.
